Daxid is an antidepressant belonging to a category of medications known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Daxid is prescribed to manage depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).
Take Daxid precisely as it has been prescribed to you. Avoid taking a larger dosage or using it for a longer time than your doctor has instructed. Your doctor may occasionally adjust your dosage to ensure you achieve optimal results from the medication. Take Daxid with water, and it can be consumed with or without food. Aim to take the medicine at the same time every day. Adhere to the instructions on your prescription label.
Seek immediate medical assistance if you show any signs of an allergic reaction, such as skin rash or hives, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Contact your doctor right away if you experience any new or worsening symptoms, including changes in mood or behavior, increased anxiety, panic attacks, sleep disturbances, or feelings of impulsivity, irritability, agitation, hostility, aggression, restlessness, hyperactivity (either mental or physical), worsening depression, or thoughts of self-harm or suicide.
Call your doctor immediately if you encounter any of these serious side effects: extremely rigid muscles, high fever, excessive sweating, rapid or irregular heartbeats, tremors, heightened reflexes; nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite, feelings of unsteadiness, lack of coordination; or headache, difficulty concentrating, memory issues, weakness, confusion, hallucinations, fainting, seizures, shallow breathing, or cessation of breathing.
